Twitch has announced that a mobile version was changed. New functions include online broadcasting via app to the channel. It doesn’t mean that videogames can be streamed but the first step in this direction has been made.
The company first announced its intention to launch Twitch mobile broadcasting in December. “We had to find a way to make our users interested. We are also preparing several cool developments we will announce a bit later,” said the senior director of product management Tom Robertson.
The updated version has “Twitch Pulse”, a news feed with articles, photos, videos and references to other resources such as YouTube, Imgur, Vimeo and Gfycat.
It is remarkable that Twitch added a night mode to the mobile version. The same function was earlier introduced in YouTube but only for desktop computers.
The app also features navigation for such sections as “Live”, “Pulse” and “Browse”, swipe to choose new videos, enter playlists and return to previous streams. There is also a section “Instant Playlists”, a collection of videos with notifications on the desktop and in the mobile app.
The app is available for Android and iOS.
